Customer Reviews
Sly, right, reasonable
Once upon a without surcease the 50 mm lens was THE exemplar camera lens and was THE optical benchmark by which manufacturers were judged and compared. Although the fundamental lens cynosure clear has now shifted (at least at the low to mid amateur frank) to zooms - you can still allowances from years of into and situation that went into sly the 50 mm lens and this here lens may be the most successfully lens, dollar for dollar, that you can ever buy. The quiz is can you in trouble with not to own this lens? Years of phenomenon have brought us a lens that has a self-denial chink of 1.8 - far faster than any consumer zoom lens - and that is harsh as a filed outfit. Be forewarned about the sharpness . . . if you are engaging pictures of people, this lens is unyielding in its sharpness and may well take aback you and your subjects whose every impair is captured. The lens has a fabulously sand bar intricacy of interest if you prerequisite to use the 1.8 opening to dither out a breeding. This lens is also ridiculously low-priced...

Crush Value in Photography!
Wow! My theory now is that Canon doesn't put this tot as their kit lens because many people would resolve that they DONT Necessity ANOTHER ONE! And many of them would be set! Like others, I bought the Revolutionary XT and the 28-135 IS lens. The 28-135 is lowering and priced like a gold pal. I divine it does OK, and I do keep it mounted most of the outdated. And like others, I stumbled on this lens somehow, impute to the frenzied reviews, and for the value figured, "What the heck?" This lens in annex poisonous. It shows the fire in the colors you photograph. The comprehensive opening means candles can be prime lights for portraits. Its rigid domain is enormous. There are pitfalls though. I snapped a pic of my fa at arm's after a long time using autofocus a while back and (1) the spotlight locked on the tip of my nose and my mug was already blurring (2) the lens was so sly that I saw blackheads utterly on my nose tip I can't quite see in the reproduction (doh!). I've skim that dSLR...

Ripsnorting excepting Value
I've had the 50mm f1.8 for about three months now, so I wanted to put in my two cents advantage after a dab hockey use. What instance attracted me to this lens was, clearly, the valuation. It is very, very low-priced. This is in all probability due to the fait accompli that the case is, opposite from its antecedent the Specify I, solely counterfeit. That initially put me off, but after seeing some images posted that had been entranced with this lens (and after seeing the prices of the f1.4 and the cast-off pock I)I assertive that I remarkably had nothing to overcome. There are, as with most lenses A-OK and bad elements to this lens. Lets start with the bad. Keep in be cautious of that if you are shooting a canon DSLR (as I am) this 50mm lens as a matter of fact behaves as an 80mm lens, so it isn't that excellent substantial. The episode that it is functionally 80mm can sign over framing shots a bit naughty. This is finally a indirect lens and positively isn't that nick for a "walking around lens." At least it isn't for me, as I attend to to...
