VR definitely works and the worth can't be thrash.
I had the 55-200mm non VR side for about 5 months, sold it to essentally make back again my tariff, and bought the VR understanding as a replacement. The non VR idea was very terse and discover, and produced superb photos, but the measure larger VR understanding is so much more usable I don't long for the other lens at all. The VR works as advertised and allows me to take pictures at 3 times or more trim shutter speeds than the non VR view. While I would attachment the 18-200mm VR for the convenience, I will never be masterful to uphold the $750 value, so my 18-55mm kit lens and this lens will no doubt cover-up my needs as sustained as I own my camera. I also really considered the 70-300mm VR, but couldn't assent to twice the toll for only 50% more reach. Amazing telephoto zoom lens
Merely got this lens for my Nikon D50, which I bought because it is smaller and lighter than the D70s. This lens is extraordinary; it's the same range as the D50 kit lens (18mm-55mm zoom) and the same force. For someone like me who values carrying around the least onus viable, this is verbatim the correct lens. And from the investigation shots I've made it looks to be tons acute enough for my soup. Don't demand to buy with 55-200 VR
If you're like me, you may buy this unnecessarily. The 55-200 DX VR already comes with a hood, but this is listed as a recommended accomplice with lens by Amazon. It won't let the lens ply thru the whole zoom number when installed in storage rage (reversed). This may produce some subordinate safe keeping to the zoom organization from adventitious bumping when not in use. Simply a guesstimate.
